Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has generously provided map data for this trail to Bring Fido for informational purposes only. We have been riding this trail for about the past 10 years. You will share the trail with joggers, walkers and bikers. The Briarcliff-Peekskill Trailway is a 12-mile linear park that runs from the town of Ossining north to Westchester County's Blue Mountain Reservation in Peekskill. The bikers were good about sharing the path. This path has a number of high risk areas with blind spots and steep inclines, especially the two route 4 underpass sections. I would suggest starting at the south end and progressing to the north, where the ride gets more scenic as you go. I have seen many very young children on bikes, scooters, skate boards, etc. The trail is a paved multi-use path, open to walkers, joggers and bicyclists. This shared-use path was built as part of the improvement of NY State Route 347 in Suffolk County. Quiet, scenic, and much gentler than the steep up and downs on the parallel segment of 202/9w. While traveling through the green landscape and along the waterway, you may see geese, ducks, squirrels, and deer.Due to its proximity to local neighborhoods, cyclists, runners, walkers, in-line skaters, families, dogs, and children commuting to and from school all enjoy the Saddle River County Park trail. This makes the 9w corridor my favorite way to bike to Bear Mountain overall now. There are many benches along the route, another great place to take a rest. Yet these posers act like they are crossing the alps. Marlin 5 Women's is a trail-worthy daily rider that's perfectly suited for everyday adventures, on and off the trail. The section from Dunkerhook Road in Paramus to the northern end in Ridgewood pleases the sense much. The Jack Harrington White Plains Greenway was recently renamed to honor a long-time member of the city's conservation board. The Saddle River County Park Bike Path is a beautiful suburban trail that winds alongside the Saddle River. It's a real obstacle course when crowded. Beautiful park to go and relax and chill. There are benches all along the route to stop and enjoy the scenery. This is a great, scenic route that weaves its way through at least 3 different parks in the area, and under quite a few bridges. At 1.6 miles, the trail crosses over a stream and arrives at a T-intersection—go left, pass a small dam, and cross over the river, following signs to Dunkerhook/Fair Lawn. Additionally, users can access the playgrounds, a water park, and picnic spaces all along the trail route. Continue to follow the river, and at mile 2.3, you will cross over the Saddle River again. I love cycling here in the winter and off peak times. The path starts in Ridgewood at the duck pond and travels along the river. Lots of them! Bergen County is attempting to extend a portion of the bike path in Saddle River County Park from East Ridgewood Avenue to Linwood Avenue. It's best features are a flat, smooth path that's generally shaded and has plenty of sights, views and places to stop and rest. I was nearly hit by two bikers today. I liked how the trail followed the river and the parking was great; it gave immediate access to the trail. Then my friend hit a broken drainage grate on the side of the street, which was covered with leaves so that she could not see the gap in the pavement. The Delaware & Hudson Canal Linear Park is 45 acres with a trail situated along the historic D&H Canal. There are several picnic areas as well. There are no Traffic lights or cars to navigate around so it’s great for families with kids. Nice to have a safe paved path available so close to home. This is the only reason i didnt give a 5 star review. Albeit I do not understand why cyclist race up and down this short path when they can go under the GWB and get a real workout that's ideal for cyclist. Goose Pond Mountain - Bike Trails is a 7.5 mile loop trail located near Chester, New York that features a river and is rated as moderate. Cyclists should go slowly and carefully in the few narrow or blind spots, as well as announcing or ringing a bell when passing anyone from behind. Not too crowded during weekdays but on weekends it becomes an obstacle course. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Easy place to walk or bike. Many forgo the bikers' decorum of announcing their approach from behind. Pedestrians are clueless, make no effort to stay right walk dead center of the path and don't know how to move right when someone yells "on your left". I feel in this day and age we need security RIDING to patrol this path daily...The cyclists can seriously hurt us and themselves...I thought about walking with a stick to keep them at arms way...Please start patrolling this park's path. Speeding and unruly bikers come often. It threw her head-first onto the asphalt. My girlfriend and I started walking this trail every weekend for the past month and we love it. I enjoyed the different surfaces, the natural areas. Trail is pretty well-maintained. I'm not saying all cyclist speed, but those that do, are putting us in harms way! Only for the younger, more adventurous mountain biker, not older geezers like my buddy and myself. The tree-lined 22.5-mile Henry Hudson Trail is the definition of scenic variety. Multiple cycling groups report seeing twine strung across the trails, specifically the Ridgewood and SoPac trails. Try riding at off-peak days/hours, or just be resigned to the fact you must ride slow and enjoy the scenery. Most of the trail runs through moderately dense suburban development, with residential and commercial buildings along the length of the trail. I've run it one day after major snow storms, so they waste no time plowing it. I wasn't the only one either. No one really knew about it and I was one of the very few who used it.
